  1. 1. We have added a Parent Liaison, Ms. Stephanie Tucker and she has worked very hard to get the P.T.A. back up and running.
    2. We have an ABL lab and Coach Baker and Coach Barton are taking their plan time to take students who need a little extra movement in the morning to help them have a better day.
    3. Additional resources have been added to help support our school including 2 instructional coaches, Ms. Skaggs and Ms. Helmick, North Care for additional counseling resources, sports for our 5th and 6th grade students, and a robotics grant that gives us 6 new ChromeBooks and 6 new robots for our students - with the support of Ms. Harden, Ms. Opheim, and Mr. Natarajan. 2. 1. Ms. Helmick and Ms. Skaggs have been very helpful to our class by showing us how to do running records and how to use the leveled library.
    2. Some of my students have improved their overall behavior and are making progress in math.
    3. Mrs. Rey and I have both completed MANDT training and will be restraining everyone in the building with reckless abandon. Seriously, though, the de-escalation techniques in the MANDT system are very useful and the entire staff would benefit from training over the first three chapters.

  17. It's going to be a challenge to limit myself to 3...here we go.

    1. Flexible seating has altered the way my classroom looks, feels and engages my students.

    2. I have a friend who has suddenly jumped a HUGE social/emotional hurdle and is meeting his goals right and left. He has been to recess 3 DAYS IN A ROW with his class with no breaks AAAAAAANNNNNDDDD rocked it in WHOLE group ABL lab. :) <3 Shoutout to Ms.Helmick and Mrs. Carden and my Kinder team for every minute they have helped me with this friend. Also Ms.Lopez, Ms. Tucker and Ms. Ozoya for keeping an eye on him during recess or specials so I can have my breaks!!!

    3. Literacy centers are getting closer and closer to perfection. My students really enjoy the checklist and the new(more effective and meaningful) centers that I have learned about and adapted to fit the needs of my students.

  18. I am inspired every day by my coworkers who care so much about our students and their situations. As a whole, Our staff is very good at forming relationships with our students.

Being more on the outside of the classroom, it's easier for me to see how well our teachers work together and as a team. School success is directly related to teamwork- and teachers who feel that they have friends and allies in their hallways. Whether it's collaborating on lesson plans or giving your teammate a break from a friend- We all need each other.

The instructional coaches are so helpful to everyone- such a necessary part of our school

  28. 1.) After spending my Saturday cheering on Coolidge sports, I am so excited for the many opportunities we're offering for our students to grow and build relationships. We've got honor choir, robotics, football, rallyball... all of these things help our students develop confidence and social skills. I saw other staff members taking their Saturday to cheer on the students, too- Mrs. Kelsey and Coach Baker, thanks for spending your personal time with our kiddos!
    2. The teamwork and commitment to students in our building is a huge positive! We are doing such challenging and important work every day, and we are all human/all have tough days/etc. Being able to lean on teammates, and seeing so many people pitching in to help each other is inspiring.
    3. I love watching the growth of both students and adults a like! Some of our challenging students from last year are growing in big ways, due in large part to committed teachers that refuse to give up on them. I've seen all teachers, even the most veteran, willingly try and incorporate new methods and strategies. It reminds me that my comfort zone is no place for growth, and inspires me to continue improving my own practices.

It's great to be a Coolidge Crocodile!
