Here is the link for the 2016-2017 School Year suggestions.  I will be pulling the forms and creating a form to vote on the theme.  Voting will occur during PLC time on the 29th.  


Ways to build relationships with your students and teammates:
Words of encouragement get and keep students connected and motivated. Below are a dozen examples. Find an excuse to share at least a few of these every day.

Think Thru Math:
3rd - 6th Grade Please monitor your students when they are on the site to be sure they are not just "clicking answers".

OCCT practice books were given to all teachers 3rd - 6th grade.

6th Grade - online practice tests are available.

  • All Students WILL achieve academically.

I hope everyone had a restful Spring Break and has come back ready to finish the school year strong!  Remember grades are due to be posted by Tuesday the 22nd at 3:00 p.m. Please remember to get your Perfect Attendance Awards number to Ms. Ozoya in the office so she can put the forms in your box.   We will have our third quarter awards during specials on Friday.

WIDA  Testing.  WIDA testing will be occurring all week with different grade levels.  Flexibility will be the word of the week for us.  Please remember to keep hallways extra quiet this week so that students have an opportunity to do their best.  Tier levels have been established.  Teachers will need to be flexible on student groups and who they are working with during WIDA testing.

Title 1 Budget Survey.  Your input is needed in creating the Coolidge Title 1 budget for the 2016-2017 school year.  On the survey you will be asked about current technology programs, after school tutoring, and Math/Reading night, etc. I need to hear from everyone concerning the Title 1 budget.  Please complete the Title 1 budget survey.  http://goo.gl/forms/oXZGqC5eSj.  


Leadership training opportunities.  
Teams of 3 - 5 people are needed to attend OKCPS summer Institute.  There are three weeks where teachers will be trained.  June 6 - 10 will focus on the new Oklahoma Standards and unit planning for reading and math.  June 13 - 17 will focus on guided reading instruction and leveled literacy interventions.  June 20 - 24 will focus on instructional strategies and mixed method assessments.  I need all certified staff to complete the form on Google Doc's concerning these opportunities.  http://goo.gl/forms/yZxqKbPkh2.  





All 3rd - 6th grade students have been enrolled in the Oklahoma Think Thru Math Test Prep Pathway.  This pathway covers the most commonly tested items on the OCCT.  Please be sure your students are working on this pathway.  All third to sixth grade students need to successfully complete at least 5 lessons on the new pathway prior to April 11th.  


LEXIA
Students meeting their LEXIA goals has decreased from 65% to 56%.  When students are on LEXIA please monitor to be sure they are successfully completing their assignments.




Coolidge has logged 2,058 hours and 20 minutes on MyOn!  Keep up the good work.  Fourth grade is the leader with 690 hours 24 minutes followed closely by third grade with 633 hours and 9 minutes.
Third grade has completed the most books, 3,671 followed closely by 4th grade with 3,553.  While 4th grade has taken the most quizzes 1,181, 5th and 6th grade have the highest quiz average with 75% average.
