Time to begin the F & P November assessments.  Please be sure you update your Running Records Tracker on the Google Drive.  You will notice I have added additional information (2nd - 6th grade) concerning 1st quarter grades and color coding student F & P levels.  Wonderings.....If you are red in F & P and Star..... does your 1st quarter grade reflect that?  We will be having this conversation as we use data to drive instruction.

12 Powerful Words.  Every child in 3rd - 6th grade should know the 12 Powerful Words and what they mean.  Can your class create a video to share on the 12 Powerful words.  Here are some examples:

At the end of each week those teachers who have gone to the ABL lab twice that week will have their name put into a hat.  Every 2 weeks a name will be pulled out of the hat. If your name is pulled then your class will receive an extra PE/recess time the following week (which means an extra plan time for you!!!)  After the 9 weeks those teachers who have visited the Action Based Learning Lab twice a week will be eligible for a gift card.  This starts November 1.

To Develop Every Child Into a Reader:
  • Everyday a child reads something they choose to read.
  • Every child reads accurately
  • Every child reads something they understand.
  • Every child writes something that is personal and meaningful daily.
  • Every child talks with peers about reading and writing.
  • Every child hears an adult reader read fluently.
